After a lot of research, we were very happy to find a camera ideal for our family’s photography needs. Some people just want something to grab from their purse or want some really expensive and purchase a SLR camera with all of its features. As for us, we wanted something on the middle ground and felt that the Canon SX10 VIXIA Powershot met all our needs. Some of the reasons include its 10 mega pixels, 24 shooting modes and 20x optical telephoto zoom.
If you do a lot of shooting from far away, like a sporting event, dance recital or band concert, a optical zoom is a must. That is the main reason why the Canon SX10 Powershot really stood out from the competition. Very few provide such amazing quality with a 20x optical zoom and 10 megapixels of resolution. This will then be able to produce amazing quality from long distances away, allowing you more freedom to get the perfect unsuspected pose. Sometimes you can even get a better picture because the person doesn’t know you’re taking it. Another big feature of the Canon SX10 Powershot is the advanced Optical Image Stabilizer, as it drastically reduces shaking of the camera and is especially important for a camera with a long lens. Otherwise pictures taken may not be sharp and could appear blurry.
The Canon Powershot sx10 digital camera has 24 different shooting modes, including 11 special scenes. If you have various needs of a landscape, action, portrait, a night mode, aquarium, this camera has the ability. It comes with also a mode to shoot movies. The Canon sx10 Powershot has built-in technology that can transform a picture into a powerful lifetime moment. Canon’s Digic 4 image processing technology also effectively reduces noise and transforms image quality. The scene-recognition technology changes images by controlling speed, accuracy, exposure and white balance. The intelligent contrast correction controls the compensation level in the pixels in the picture, making sure dark areas are brighter or if they‘re already bright, staying the same.
There are only a few minor annoyances, especially when the high chromatic aberration happens at both ends of the zoom and the dial doesn't always work. The RAW mode still hasn’t been created, and unfortunately, the lens cap doesn’t always stay on.
None of these qualities really mattered to us, it’s benefits and strengths clearly outweighs the couple of imperfections, and we’d still recommend it to anyone interested in a new point-and-shoot camera for a great price. Infact, we will be picking up another Canon SX10 Powershot for our son who will be travelling this fall. It was such a great purchase for us, we felt it needed to be shared. |
